Class 9

Monday, November 26th, 2012

This past week has been very exciting. We have been to the mosque, the Christmas auditions and also assessment week. The mosque was very exciting because of the facts that we can learn. We are ready for Christmas and we are auditioning for the Christmas play and also everyone can’t wait for boogie woogie Santa.

This week is assessment week and everyone is ready to try their best in assessments to get a fantastic grade.

Class 11

Tuesday, November 13th, 2012

So far this term in class 11, we have been learning about the Jewish religion and this week we had a visit to the Synagogue (a Jewish worship temple) in Nottingham. To get us ready for the trip, on Wednesday we had an interesting visit from the Rabbi, who showed us a picture power-point about the items we would be seeing and also taught us how to write our name in Hebrew. On Thursday the 8th of November, the whole of year 6 arrived at Nottingham. When we first entered the synagogue, we were stunned by its amazing beauty. Once the Rabbi had explained how to handle the precious items, everybody got a chance to hold the Torah scroll, the Yad and the Torah Crown. Next we went upstairs and asked the Rabbi a lot of fascinating questions. We also saw a great view of downstairs from over the barrier. Overall we are really enjoying our R.E topic on the Jewish religion.
