It is with great pleasure that I welcome you, on behalf of the children, staff and governors, to Oakwood Junior School. 

We aim to provide a warm, welcoming and supportive environment in which our pupils develop a lifelong love of learning.  

We want the children to be happy and excited about coming to school to learn and to develop their knowledge, skills and understanding through a rich curriculum that celebrates diversity.

Our dedicated team aims to help every child to face their individual challenges with courage and determination and to discover their own unique talents and strengths. We are totally committed to removing barriers to learning and developing in each child a 'take care' attitude to work and a social 'take care' conscience, as well as a shared pride in achievement in all its forms. 

Our school motto ‘Every child is a learner and can achieve’, reflects our high aspirations and ambitions for our children as well as our drive and determination to ensure that all children are fully inclusive.  We believe in providing a culture of opportunity for all of our children so that they can achieve their full potential and we aim for exceptional personal development of all. 

At Oakwood Juniors, the staff and governors work in partnership with parents and carers. We value the contributions of a child’s whole family and are committed to building strong links with the community. We know that the more parents are engaged in their child’s learning the greater the achievement and we are delighted to talk with you about any aspect of your child’s learning and how you can support them at home.

As a school, we pride ourselves on being open and approachable and would encourage you to take the opportunity to visit us.
