Latest information on Coronavirus

Covid-19 is still in circulation and here at Oakwood Junior School we follow the the latest advice and guidance to assist us in the safe running of our school.

Odyssey Collaborative Trust guidance is as follows:

• Staff on testing positive must isolate for 5 days, whether or not they have symptoms

• Children should not be testing at all and should continue in their education setting with mild symptoms (like a common cold) unless they are too poorly to attend and have a high temperature.  If for any reason a child does do a test and it's positive, they are advised to stay home for 3 days. This needs to be extended if they continue with a high temperature which means they are still infectious.

NHS guidelines currently state:

Your child should try to stay at home and avoid contact with other people if they have symptoms of COVID-19 and they either:

• have a high temperature
• do not feel well enough to go to school, college or childcare, or do their normal activities

They can go back to school, college or childcare when they feel better or do not have a high temperature.

If your child has mild symptoms such as a runny nose, sore throat or mild cough, and they feel well enough, they can go to school.
