Graham Dean - Co-opted Governor - Vice Chair of Governors
I am the Vice-Chair and link governor for SEND.
My degree is in chemistry, and I am a retired industrial chemist, with 35 years experience of working on chemical plants and oil refineries in the UK, Europe, USA and Middle East, as well as a further 10 years experience of chemical safety testing.
In addition, I am a Lead Auditor to ISO 9000, with experience of carrying out hygiene audits in food production factories, as well as major retail stores.
Presently, I now run my own Cattery business.
My interests have always revolved around playing sport, especially rowing, where I am still racing at national events after first getting into a racing boat in 1970 at the age of 15. I am a level 2 coach in rowing, and take pride in bringing along the next generation of athletes.
As well as having competed for local teams in most sports when I was younger, I was also a qualified football referee of the then United States Soccer Association while working overseas.
When my three children were at primary school, I was a parent governor and Treasurer of the PTA.
I see my role of governor as ensuring that the school adheres to policy, and provides the opportunity for the best education possible for our pupils.
